‘Trail 2011’, was a trek along the entire 670km length of Sri Lanka, from its Southernmost point, Dondra Head, to the Northernmost, Point Pedro, over 27 days, to raise funds to build a cancer treatment center in Jaffna in the previously war-torn Northern region of Sri Lanka. ‘Trail 2011’ was the first and largest crowdfunding initiative at the time, amassing over 30,000 supporters en-route and raising USD 10 million to construct the Tellippalai Trail Cancer Hospital which has treated over 1,000,000 patients since opening its doors in 2014

The hospital’s impact extends beyond the Northern Province, serving patients from the Eastern, Central, and North Central Provinces in significant numbers. The hospital also receives patients from as far as Colombo, over 400 km away, particularly for treatment at its advanced LINAC facility, underscoring the hospital's critical importance in Sri Lanka’s cancer treatment landscape.
Following the successful completion of the Tellippalai Trail Cancer Hospital, Colours of Courage remained committed to ensuring the long-term sustainability and quality of the facility through continuous upgrades, renovations, and maintenance.
